The Caring for our Country Australian Feral Camel Management Project is funded from the Australian Government's Natural Resource Management budget and precludes specific spending on infrastructure development.
However, the project partners recognise that the pastoral production industry – growing, processing and export – of agricultural products has a role to play in the management of the feral herd in the short and medium term.
The Australian Camel Industry Association has a representative on the project Steering Committee and we are in constant contact to facilitate, where possible, industry involvement in the management of the feral herd.
